Supernatural A:

ABARIS
Said to be the teacher of Pythagoras. ABARIS was a magician of Scythia, an ancient culture on the north shore of the Black Sea. He claimed to possess a golden arrow, given to him by Apollo, by means of which he could travel through air and become invisible. He is said to have lived without eating or drinking.

ABOMINABLE SNOWMAN
Known by names such as Yeti, Bigfoot, Meh-teh and Sasquatch. This unsubstantiated creature is said to be seven to ten feet tall, with a foot span twice that of a human's. He has been reported in Tibet, Nepal, China, Siberia, Canada and the US Northwest. In 1832, a report from a UK representative in Nepal, described a creature who reportedly attacked his servants. Natives called the beast, "Rakshas", which means demon. No material evidence has been found to date.

ABRAXAS
The word Abraxas (or Abrasax or Abracax) was engraved on certain antique stones, called on that account Abraxas stones, which were used as amulets or charms. The name is found in the Greek Magical Papyrii, and the word may be related to the word abracadabra, although other explanations exist. The name is also found in Gnostic texts such as the Gospel of the Egyptians. Abraxas has also been variously claimed throughout the centuries to be an Egyptian god, a demon. Abraxas reperesents also God and Satan in one entity and the dual nature of it's essence. With Thomas More in his novel of the island Utopia the island had besides "Utopia" also an older name: "Abraxas". The letters of Abraxas, in the Greek system of alphabetic numerology, sum to the number 365, and the Basilideans gave the name to the 365 orders of spirits which, as they conceived, emanated in succession from the Supreme Being. These orders were supposed to occupy 365 heavens, each fashioned like, but inferior to that above it; and the lowest of the heavens was thought to be the abode of the spirits who formed Earth and its inhabitants, and to whom was committed the administration of its affairs. In addition to the word Abraxas and other mystical characters, they have often symbolic mystical figures engraved on them. The most common of these have the head of a fowl, and the arms and bust of a man, and terminate in the body and tail of a serpent. On the Abraxas gems, the figure had a Chimera-like appearance (somewhat resembling a basilisk): he had the head of a rooster (or sometimes a king), the body of a man, and legs fashioned like snakes and sometimes depicted with a whip in his hand - a form referred to as the Anguipede.

ACTORIUS

AFREET
Ifrit, also spelled efreet, also ifreet, afrit, afreet (Arabic: ?Afrit: ?????, pl ?Afarit: ??????), are a kind of Jinn mentioned in the Qur'an. Afrit is mentioned in the Qur'an, Sura An-Naml:39. (27:39) A ‘Afrît (strong one) from the jinn said: "I will bring it to you before you rise from your place. And verily, I am indeed strong, and trustworthy for such work." It's a Qur'anic passage where King Solomon asks various creatures who can bring the throne of the Queen of Sheba to him fastest. The Afrit was outperformed by prayer: One with whom was knowledge of the Scripture said: "I will bring it to you within the twinkling of an eye!" Then when Solomon saw it placed before him, he said: "This is by the Grace of my Lord - to test me whether I am grateful or ungrateful! And whoever is grateful, truly, his gratitude is for (the good of) his ownself; and whoever is ungrateful, (he is ungrateful only for the loss of his ownself). Certainly my Lord is Rich (Free of all needs), Bountiful. Sura An-Naml:40. (27:40) Ifrits in contemporary popular mythology are jinn spirits that embody fire. They consider themselves superior to all races because they supposedly "came first," and they resent deeply that humans have found magical ways to take control over them. Even when tasked, they show an ironic and malicious attitude, tending to subvert their masters' orders every time they can. They often appear as individuals of superhuman beauty and strength, but are very difficult to deal with.

AMULET
(Arabic Hamulet 'that which is suspended') A Charm designed more for protection, than for conferring power or strength, which is the function of a Talisman. An amulet (from Latin amuletum; earliest extant use in Natural History, meaning "an object that protects a person from trouble") or a talisman (from Arabic tilasm, ultimately from Greek telesma or from the Greek word "talein" which means "to initiate into the mysteries.") consists of any object intended to bring good luck and/or protection to its owner. Potential amulets include: gems or simple stones, statues, coins, drawings, pendants, rings, plants, animals, etc.; even words said in certain occasions—for example: vade retro satana—(Latin, "go back, Satan"), to repel evil or bad luck.
Amulets and talismans vary considerably according to their time and place of origin. In many societies, religious objects serve as amulets.
Amulets can be found among people of every nation and social status. They can be seen in jewellery, artisan fairs, museums, shops, and homes.
The word talisman also describes a number of consecrated magical objects used in Hermeticism.
Instructions for how to create a talisman can be commonly found in Grimoires. These talismans, sometimes called pentacles, were usually either made to protect the wearer from various influences of disease and other forms of danger or to protect the wearer from demons and to seal a certain demon under the users control.
A common version of the later talisman is known as the Seal of Solomon. This became an extremely important talisman due to the legend that Solomon used demons to create Solomon's temple and was protected by a seal sent by God (although the earliest accounts describe this seal as a ring: see Testament of Solomon; later innovations were made by various ceremonial magicians and authors of other grimoires where they have described the seal as a ring.

ANGEL
"An angel is a supernatural being found in many religions. In Christianity, Islam, Judaism, and Zoroastrianism, angels, as attendants or guardians to man, typically act as messengers from God.

Angelology (from Greek: a??e???, angel, "angel"; and ?????, logos, "study") is a branch of theology that deals with a hierarchical system of angels, messengers, celestial powers or emanations, and the study of these systems. It primarily relates to Kabbalistic Judaism and Christianity, where it is one of the ten major branches of theology, albeit an often neglected one.

Many secular scholars believe that Judeo-Christianity owes a great debt to Zoroastrianism in regards to the introduction of angelology and demonology, as well as the fallen angel Satan as the ultimate agent of evil, comparing him to the evil spirit Ahriman. As the Iranian Avestan and Vedic traditions and also other branches of Indo-European mythologies show, the notion of demons had existed long before.

Some scholars believe that Zoroastrianism had an influence on Jewish angelology, and therefore modern Christian angelology, due to the appearance of elements from Zoroastrianism in Judaism following Israel's extended contact with the Persian Empire while in exile in Babylon. Borrowed notions may include the introduction of Satan as the ruler over the powers of evil, in contrast to God (present mainly in Western Christian and Islamic theology); comparing Satan to Angra Mainyu (also known as Ahriman) of Zoroastrian faith, who was the arch-enemy of Ahura Mazda, the supreme Universal God of mankind. Angels, some also believe, may have first been depicted as God's helpers in Zoroastrianism, and their hierarchy is comparable to modern Angelology's hierarchy." - cited from Wikipedia

Whether Angels have gender or sensual interest is debateable. Surprisingly enough, no place in the Bible are the wings of Angels mentioned. The head of the Angels is Michael(an Archangel), who rules over Anael, Gabriel, Oriphiel, Raphael, Samuel and Zachariel. He is immortal.

BILOCATION
Bilocation, sometimes multilocation, is a term used to describe the ability/instances in which an individual or object is said to be, or appear to be, located in two distinct places at the same instant in time. In most instances, bilocation is said to be involuntary and not to have been directed by the individual concerned in terms of time or space. Several Christian saints and monks are said to have exhibited bilocation. In one instance, in 1774, St. Alphonsus Liguori is said to have gone into a trance while preparing for Mass. When he came out of the trance he reported that he had visited the bedside of the dying Pope Clement XIV. His presence is then said to have been confirmed by those attending the Pope despite him being 4 days travel away, and not appearing to have left his original location. Other Christian fugures said to have experienced it include St. Anthony of Padua, St. Severus of Milan St. Ambrose of Milan amd St. Martin de Porres.
